The role of personal and organizational resources in determining the work engagement

This research project will contribute to the improvement of scientific study and indicator working welfare mediators within the organizational context.

To this end, the project aims to apply the Job Demands-Resources Model (JD-r: Demerouti, Nachreiner Schaufeli and Bakker, 2001; Bakker and Demerouti, 2007) within specific organisational contexts.

In particular, the model JD-R is of particular interest in scope since it allows to recognize the uniqueness and specific features of each workplace environment, managers in determining the well-being of workers, starting from the classification of such features within two general categories: the job demands (JD) and job resources (JR).

With the aim of contributing to the development of the JD-R model, the most reliable research lines (Bakker and Demerouti, 2007) dwell on the importance of including within this model, the role of workers ‘ personal resources as a factor that can determine the emergence of specific organizational outcomes identified, e.g. the work engagement. The overall objective of this project is to study and identify how some factors (personal and business) affect the quality of organizational life, namely the role of certain characteristics of the work environment in contributing to better experience within the organization.

To participate in the research will be sufficient to complete a questionnaire available in both printed and online. The results obtained from the collection of the data will be analyzed only in aggregate form by researchers of the University of Verona and will be used only for research purposes. Confidentiality is guaranteed on all materials related to the initiative in accordance with the current legislation.
