Projects Development: Regional, National and European Calls

The APRESO group is willing to be partner of national and international projects whose interests lie in the same field. In the research project design phase, researchers choose the strategies and methods that will be most functional for their topic and highlight the circumstances in which the research will be conducted.

The APRESO team deals with research and intervention projects related to social phenomena and organizational processes. The approach adopted by APRESO is mainly of a research-action type.

Action research can be defined as an approach in which the action researcher and a client collaborate in the diagnosis of the problem and in the development of a solution based on the diagnosis. In other words, one of the main characteristic traits of action research relates to collaboration between researcher and member of the organization in order to solve organizational problems. Action study assumes the social world to be constantly changing, both, researcher and research being one part of that change.

Several advantages using this approach:

  • High level of practical relevance of the business research;
  • Can be used with quantitative, as well as, qualitative data;
  • Possibility to gain in-depth knowledge about the problem.

By choosing this type of approach, while APRESO deals with conducting some kind of intervention required by social and organizational realities (such as a training intervention or a business consultancy relating to climate or culture), it also takes advantage of it to collect data and to involve the interested actors to reach a deep and scientifically supported knowledge of certain phenomena and processes.
